Dr. Oswaldo Urdapilleta is the Director of the Center for Health Research and Policy at Social & Scientific Systems, Inc. (SSS). He oversees and participates on health research projects with a U.S. Healthcare and International Health focus. Prior to SSS, he was a Principal Research Associate and Research Director at IMPAQ International.
Dr. Urdapilleta has more than 10 years of experience conducting labor, health and social welfare impact evaluations. He has developed numerous evaluation design methodologies, participated in and coordinated data collection activities and prepared evaluation and monitoring reports for international projects. Throughout his research, he uses sophisticated and rigorous research techniques, and leads both quantitative analyses (advanced econometrics, sampling) and qualitative research (focus groups, in-depth interviews, surveys). He was the Deputy Director of Evaluation and Director of Program Monitoring in the Ministry of Health in Mexico in the mid-90s.
